Getting Started
For a more detailed platform overview, go here.
Welcome to Doxapolis, "The world in one city".
The name "Doxapolis" stems from the two greek words "Doxa" and "Polis"
which mean "Glory" and "City" respectively. Hence, a direct translation
would be "City of Glory".
Doxapolis is what we like to call a "Relaxed Strategy Social Gaming Portal" where you compete to have
one of the coolest residences, most wealth and be a part of the strongest house over an assigned period of time (a season).
It is a unique virtual city/platform where you use strategy, business acumen, friends and street saviness to build the most formidable empire.
Items in Doxapolis mirror the real-world, you get to showcase and own the coolest clothes, cars, Real estate and even companies if you are that good.
Doxapolis has a smooth, familiar and easy-to-use interface optimized for the best user experience on any computer or internet connection.
It is designed like a social network and you can play even at work;)
You do not need to log hours and hours of gameplay to be competitive
Your objective is to become the trendiest urbanite in Doxapolis by generating flos(the doxapolis currency) and strategically using it to overcome game obstacles.
- Upon your arrival to Doxapolis, you are automatically assigned a residence (one room apartment - level 1). You are free and advised to join a house (a like-minded group of Doxapolis users or your friends) as soon as possible.
You have 20, 000 flos (Doxapolis currency) in cash as start-up money.
- You are able to generate more flos in different ways .
- You use the money you generate to buy items (and later vehicles) from the marketplace. These items will
become part of your residence.
- The items you buy have a parameter called "splendor" which is a measurement of their worth. You earn money back by getting a daily "splendor tithe" in return.
- Once your room has over 500 points in splendor, you are able to attack other rooms/houses
with weapons you buy from the market place.
- A measurement called Activity Index (AI) tracks how active you are on the platform. Once you have reached a certain AI and splendor level, you are able to upgrade your residence.
- With each residence upgrade, more control and avenues for cash generation are created. You can create jobs, have a personal staff (other Doxa users), own vehicles (cars, ships, planes) and much more.
- A good house is crucial for overall game strategy and can help you get ahead of competition.
- Your house can own and control any of the Doxapolis estates and companies. These generate profits which go straight to your house which you guys can divide however you see fit.
- There is a weekly screen shot of the top residences and top houses. Your objective is
to not just make it into these weekly lists, but plan for the long term.
There are various ways for social interaction e.g walls, pics, thoughts. picture comments,
house walls, house private lounges (for private meetings, strategy discussions etc amongst house members),
tourist destination reviews, forums and much more.

Invest your cash in the stock market. Risky as it flunctuates up or down daily.
Not so secret tip: Stocks are largely always more profitable over time.
The share values change once a day.

When you attack another user's room and successfully destroy one of his items,
you are rewarded with a certain amount of money.
Also, when you attack a house and successfully complete the violent takeover of an estate, you earn money for your part in the operation.
These ways of generating funds always ends up causing "feuds" (the fun uh? :)), as you already know,
so be careful.

For example, if you have a room splendor value of 100, you will earn 10 flos per
day.
You have to buy items and vehicles from the market to increase your splendor, the more items
you have, the more splendor. The more splendor you have, the more daily income...get
it?
*Admin stops writing help section, goes straight to the market to buy more stuff
for his room*

Your house can purchase and run estates and companies(expensive but worthwhile investments). Your house gets all the revenue from Skewlgate Travel when users visit your estate (think Monopoly).
Companies on the other hand own items in the marketplace and you earn revenue when an item is purchased. You will have to restock items when they run out.
House members can choose to share or spend this revenue however they decide.

|
|
You can provide shield and splendor to other users while getting flos in return.
Depending on the resources you have, you can create jobs, employ people and get shield and splendor in return which ultimately gives you a profit as you generate more flos.
Just like a well run business in the real world.
